Our studio's kicking off the new year with a rocking lineup of big-name artists and seriously talented studio musicians rolling through our doors. What's got everyone grooving is the growing trend of bands recording together in our 3 (or even 4) live rooms, capturing those killer live vibes - but without the messy sound bleed.
And, of course, it saves money to record drums, bass, guitars, keys and guide-vocal at the same time - rather than one after another.
Last Wednesday was a prime example. At 9 am, we bumped in a full drum set, electric bass, two electric guitars, guide vocals, and an acoustic guitar. Without any rush, and with enough time for a relaxing cuppa, we had the sound dialled in to perfection by 11:45 am. A minor adjustment to the 3 independent stereo headphone mixes, and we were ready to roll!
For the rest of the day, we recorded take after take, with a few great chats about creative ideas in between.
That's the Mix Artist Studio groove.
Artists enjoy the relaxing vibe of the space, and they see the value of recording their singles, EPs and albums with us this way - sounding absolutely stunning, and true to the sound that makes each band unique.
